Default How Fuel Efficient are you?

Okay I am just curious to see if I am getting bad gas mileage. Since this is the first car I've owned with a gauge for it, then I am not sure what I should be getting depending on my driving conditions. I'm seeing between 18.5 and 20MPG. I drive mainly on the highway just to and from work. After work I may get back out for a min on main streets for a bite to eat and gas. What about you all?
Oh yeah, it's an A4.

I get really bad gas milage on mine. Maybe cause I am always deep into the throttle.

I get 21-22 on a stock 2001 convertible.

I jumped some when I began using Royal Purple.

My DIC info usually rates me at an average of about 19mpg. I have gotten up to 28.1 on a trip to Cali.

Sometimes I take it easy and other times I'm approaching the redline.

This time of the year, thanks to headlights and that infernal air conditioner compressor insisting on running in my DD, I am averaging 21-23mpg, with 1/3 city and 2/3 highway miles. (54 miles round trip, including 18 city and 36 highway miles).

Last fall, with temps in the 70s and 80s, I was able to reach a best of 25.2mpg with one tank, and 23-24mpg the rest of the time (unless my wife, who is definitely an enthusiast, drove the car).

I was reading an avg of 25.4 before I disconnected the battery on Saturday.

On the interstate I see 29-31 at 65, 28 at 80. At 55 about 31 -33.

Air conditioner brings those numbers down, but I hardly use it.

I do open road driving mostly.

About the same as the others: 18-20 in the city type driving, and 28-32 on the highway at cruise. '01 MN6 Z51 Vert.

When I first got the vert I got 31 on the trip from Fla. to here in Flagstaff with 3:15s. H/C pkg, 3:42s, 3500 hi-stall brought it down to 28 highway, 23 town. Since the supercharger it gets 24 highway, 22 town. That is with a light foot, otherwise forget about it.

I own a box stock 2002 convertible with A4 and 3.15 rear end. I average 22-24 mpg around town in traffic. My best highway average was 28.7 mpg on a trip from Tulsa to St Louis running 65 to 75 mph. these are real calculated averages not DIC numbers. In my experience the DIC is usually 1-3 mpg high.

My 99 is heavily modded and has a 3.42 rear (A4), and I get up to 24mpg on the highway (if I'm good), or about 22mpg if I run 80+. Around town isn't so good. Maybe about 15mpg, tops, but more like 12-13. I think, for the performance, the mileage is outstanding, but everything looks good compared to my Escalade...

I just made the trip from St.Paul to Madison. 31.4 mpg average.

But is was slippery so I babied it the entire way. Never got into the throttle at all.

Needless to say, I was impressed.

My DIC usually shows an average of 26.0-26.5 on my 2001 Z06. My comute consists of mostly 45-60mph and I will use 6th gear down to 40mph.

So seems like I am getting bad gas mileage or normal? Keeping in mind I do not romp on it normally.
