I looked into building one, but decided to just buy one that would just fit.
Well......it took me several hours to get this one installed. Had to re-shape it and make it work. I am not sure why, but this is the story. It still restricts the movement of my center air-dam but not too much
RESULTS: No more debris in the condenser. You still run the risk of the occasional Wal-Mart bag blocking the whole area so watch out!
Good advice...do you know how hard it is to remove the radiator??
If you are mechanically inclined and have the correct equipment it is not that difficult, it's not that easy either because of the limited space. I paid to have someone do it, I just didn't want to mess with it.

I've been kicking this idea around for a year now. I need to do it in order to get an effective cleaning (that would pass my standards anyway), but it looks like quite a job...
Since I'm a DIY guy , I found some 16 gage perforated SST sheet with 1/2" holes at the local metal scrap yard for $5. It's good enough to keep the birds and squirrels from being sucked in.
I did the Home Depot screen for about $8 after finding a Mickey D's fry container stuck up there. Been working great for at least a couple of years now. Made several for friends also from the same piece and still have extra material left over.
I have to admit, that is about the sweetest screen I have seen for this purpose. But that price, not that it is not worth it and all but wow...after seeing all these $5 dollar solutions...

Update.....
QUOTE=renegad44;1564115732]OK, finished mine today. Used #23GA Hardward Wire $8.99/Ace Hardware, attached it the same way TheRadioFlyer did his. It looks better than this picture, and it's gonna work....
I've decided to move the screen under the front bumper instead of on top like the first picture. I think it's a little neater....
In the past, I've made my own and if that works for an owner, great. DIY almost always brings a great degree of satisfaction and $$$ savings.
The issue that I found was if you have to remove the DIY screen for any reason. It requires removal of each of the multiple fasteners (unless you notched the screen ).
Whereas, the ELITE ENGINEERING screen requires removal of two fasteners at the mounting "ears", and loosening of the bumper fasteners where they are notched. It then comes right out. I've hit road debris and the screen hasn't been damaged, either.
It's your car to do with as you please!

ONE WAY OR ANOTHER, IMHO, IT'S ONE IMPORTANT ADD ON
