I currently have the GY RF's on my C5 with the A4 transmission. The differential was changed to the Z06 3.42's. When I hit second gear at WOT the back end gets squirrely. I was wondering if the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP runflat was a stickier tire or if I need to go to a non-RF. What tires would you recommend in OEM sizes?
Tire rack have a comparison feature. Here are the four main run flat contenders for the Vette. Sticker tires are probably softer so would wear quicker. From this looks like the Firestone has the best traction rating.
"Stickier" tires will wear faster. But ANY radial will stick better than a runflat. I ditched my GY runflats for some budget Kumhos and they are a vast improvement in every category... except running flat... which is the only thing runflats are good for.
The only negative was a less responsive turn in when going to a radial, due to the sidewall being less stiff. A couple extra PSI in the front tires made it all but go away completely.

I've always gone by three types of tires for this car: runflat, radial or drag radial. Whether that's wrong or right, blah I don't care, people usually know what I'm referring to
The point I was trying to make was that pretty much any 'non-runflat' will be stickier than a runflat. The only noticable difference I could telling between the two was a less responsive turn-in with the 'non-runflat'.
kdw's 255x40x17 and 285x40x18 real good tire when road is warm when on cold surface in cold temp those sizes are availible at t rack and work on stock wheel sizes
