Well it finally happened to me the DIC reads LOW FUEL,and the gauge reads empty. The tanks are full,Tried the bottle of TECHRON trick, nothing yet.It happened to me a few years ago and some how healed itself, any quick fixes guys?
I used the Techyron and it got better in about 4 days. Others have posted having to use a couple of bottles. Sea Foam in the gas is another excellent choice to break down the deposits
I think a big factor in using the Techron cure is to add it when the tank is low on fuel,,,to get it well mixed and in both tanks. Might take a tank or two but the success rate is quite high.
Stick with it. It may take a few bottles to clear the sulfur build up if its bad. A tank drop is expensive. As Dave says, the codes will show if its anything more serious.
I've been haunted with gas gauge issue too. I found that after 4 Seafoam applications, things have improved.
The general strategy here as I know it:
1. Techron or Seafoam applications... "Rather-Rinse-Repeat"
2. Check grounds
3. The dreaded replace fuel sending units.

Most of the time, #1 gets you by.
Might be worth a poll to find out how many guys fixed it with just Techron

True... this is my perception from the many posts I see here on this subject (and my own personal experience) and by no means a "scientific" conclusion.

I guess these polls never are very scientific but it gives rough idea
I posted one on battery performance nearly 2 years ago. Its had over 700 replies now. I'd say with that kind of sample it shows that theres an issue with the older OEM batteries. I'd say the dead gas gauge falls in the same category

Happened to me a month or so ago. Driving along with 1/2 of a tank and all of a sudden gas guage drops to empty and DIC warning appears. I pulled into a Chevron station, filled up and headed back down the road. After about 30 miles everything started working again and no problems since.
Give it a while, after adding techron, and hopefully it will fix it's self.
Glad I started looking at the Forum earlier before I have had the problem. A bottle of Techron with every other tank-full has probably been the thing that has avoided the problem for me.
I use only Chevron gas in my 2002 coupe. I have the gas gage drop to empty about every 3 tankfulls. I now put in a bottle of Techron during fillup every 3rd tank. Good Luck!

You maybe getting a code p1432. I get this code all the time and I just reset the code. Have had the car at the dealer to try and fix the problem but they can't find why the problem occurs
I am there right now on my first can of sea foam. Hope it works, how do you pull codes?
Push and hold the Options Button on the DIC Controller, then push the "Fuel" button 4 times in like 3 seconds. It will start scrolling through the codes, if any. Touching the E/M button will let it exit. While in the diagnostic mode, you can manually scroll through them too, but be sure to write each code down and pay attention to any that have a "C" following it. "C" stands for Current, "H" stands for History.
I tried theTechron bottles in about 3 to 4 tanks and it did not work. Then I filled up with Chevron gas with Techron and it worked after the 2nd fillup. I have not had the problem for over 1 year now but always use Chevron gas.
Thanks for all the feed back,A buddy of mine in our Corvette Club has the same problem on one of his Vettes and wants to replace both sending units on his and mine ,trying to convince him to do the Techron thing like I am doing first.I have always used Amoco or Shell in mine.Guess I will have to add a bottle of Techron each fill up as there are no Chevrons in our area.Keep you guys posted.
