Thanks to all you forum members for the positive comments. You all were the catylst for me getting started with this. Any constructive critisizim is also welcomed. I'm curious to see tstar's application of the film over the areas we cant change. The white guage faces really do set the dash apart from stock. It also changes the numbers and tic marks to red which is what I was looking for . Not as bright as the radio or other leds but thats o.k. I'd say "go for it"!!
Do those lights fit into the factory floorboard light sockets? I think the receptacle for the floorboard light is square. I'd use these to replace the factory floorboard lights. Can you post a "how-to" on this mod?
Its pretty simple to do this. I used a hole saw and put a new hole in the thin plastic hush panel. The factory holes are square and not in as good of a place for best light dispersion. Very clean install.I siliconed them in placeWell hidden under the dash
Looks good enough I just ordered my LEDs, lol! Haven't even looked to see how much work it will be, but that's part of the fun! Rather than drill a hole, could they just be double sided taped? And I assume you just wired directly to the factory lights after pulling them out?
These leds can be used just about anywhere in any mounting fashion you can think up.. I was thinking about sticking them inplace but you would have to hide the wiring. Its not like your cutting into a expensive dash piece or something. YOu could remove them and no-one would probable ever know. I need to get 4 more of these, 2 for the trunk and 2 for underhood, maybe. Enough is enough sometimes.. These things work so good it's hard to resist!
