WD40 is safe. You'll just have to re-apply the wax, which you'd have to do anyway. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about the problem. What kind of person does that to a nice car.
I've used goo gone in the past which has worked fine. Other members have suggested WD40. Either way I'd do a test run on an area thats not so obvious first.

OMFG
is "someone" dead, cause if it was my car they would be. Dang I dont know I am pretty dang good with a buffer and Im not sure compound will take of that you may have to use reducer to rub all the residue off then you have to buff the entire car. Good luck

Go to NAPA and buy some tar remover. It will cut thru the white crap.

Well, after you permanently disable the SOB's, you use the bloody side of their living flesh to wipe down the car......no, that won't get the tape residue off, so wipe something else up with them and use one of the suggestions above.
That is some totally serious BS....you need new friends.

I've used WD40 many times to get crap off cars.

Goo remover works good also. No matter what you use clean it well afterwards and give it a good heavy waxing.

Soap and water work just fine. If it takes too much elbow grease then wash it and use a cleaner wax. I put duct tape on my car all the time when I go to the track. It isn't that hard to get the stuff off as long as you don't leave it there for a couple of years.

WD40 or PennzGuard will clean the goo and is a good tar remover also and will not (never has on any of my cars) hurt the paint.

HCL joke, tar remover does wonders, and wd-40 does too; unless you want to try HCL.
