Default New to the C5 World

Just wanted to introduce myself. Some of you C5 guys already know me but most will not. But I am happy to say I just bought a 2003 Z06 with 3700 original miles. I won't actually get the car for probably 2 weeks though but I have wanted one for a while now. So pardon my ignorance to a lot of C5 stuff which I am hoping you guys will be able to fill me in on. I have enclosed the pics of the car from the dealer. I can hardly wait for the warm weather. I have my ZR1 for sale but fear I may not be able to get rif of her so I may be stuck with both cars!

Wow, That car looks mint!

Congrats on a fine looking car, and it don't hurt to own the best cars from both the C4 and C5 era's.

Ian! Thanks for the compliments. I came real close to pulling the cord on a black 03 with 5000 miles this week but figured I would hold out another week to see if I found my red one. Going to be nice to see an extra Z06 in the crowd If we work a little bit think we can convince Mo to come to the land of the "Z"

Guys thanks for the compliments. The biggest problem I fear is a lot of sleepness nights until she is home tucked away safe and sound beside my ZR1. This wait will drive me nuts.....

Don't tell the other ZR-1 guys, but I think you will find this crowd pretty laid back compared to what you're used to!

Such a tragedy that you "may be stuck" with a ZR-1 and Z06. How will you live with yourself?

Read everything on here and don't be afreaid to ask questions. There are some very knowledgable folks on here... Welcome!

Thanks Ben, I have been reading and really getting a lot of info already. This seems like a great group but I will say the ZR1 guys may come across as a little rough but these guys have been beyond incredible for every and any little detail I could have ever needed. These guys have extended their generosity from across the entire U.S. to help me at all hours 7 days a week. From what I have been reading the C5 guys are the same so I consider myself lucky.

Nice combo!! I love that black & red interior! I originally ordered my 02' In Electron Blue with the same black & red interior, but after driving the one they had in the showroom I couldn't wait. I cancelled the order & bought the Electron Blue with Black only interior instead. I wish I waited now, but I'm still happy with the black interior
I know the exact feeling you have, It's great because you know your getting it but, you wan't it right now. The night before is going to be tough Good luck getting any sleep It will be worth it when you sign those papers and pull out of the dealer.
Good luck with your new Z06! I also love the ZR1, that was the car that really turned me on to Vettes. I always liked them but when that baby came out I loved them from there on

Keep both cars if you can. You won't regret it. I know I don't.

Yah, the ZR-1 guys are awesome...but can be a little touchy in defense of "the King". You will find a little of that with the C5Z guys holding off the C6 guys that are convinced our cars are already antiques... I'm coming from a C4 as well, so I thought I would need a thick skin here, but everybody has been extremely friendly and welcoming.
There is a lot of knowledge here and plenty of folks willing to help.
You will have a blast with the Z06. I am always amazed at its balance, nimbleness and power. Have fun and be safe!
