I was 24 and bought a C3. I kept that til I got married. We needed money to buy a house, so I sold it. What a weak excuse.
The bad news is, I bought another C3 a year later, and went through the same thing as you. I kept it for a while after the birth of my daughter, but just couldn't justify it. I sold it and many years later bought my C5. I hope you can keep yours.
I was 18, bought a new one in 1977, than a long gap in between, 43 yrs old bought a ZR1, 45 another 77, and then 47 a 2000 coupe. Have my eyes on the new ZO6........
I was 18 when I bought a 68 vert, red/white top and factory Hurst. It had sidepipes and a 427 w/ sixpack.
Sold it when my son was born a year later. Bought my next one 3 years ago @ age 48.
55 and now 55, all I cared about before were stroked Harleys, sold one last September matched the amount and bought a 2001 triple black vert, all and I mean all my vehicles have been black for years. Dont know why I waited so long as what a blast!!!!
Bought mine when I was 23. Paid the car with cash, and had $2k left for the mods (Borla, Blackwing, and wheels), and my bank account was empty after that.
Got my first one when I was 17 fixing to graduate. '70 454 390hp. I look back on that and I figure they were trying to get rid of me. Later on that summer of '70 I was sent a free ticket to Aisa and lived there for 3.5 yrs. Car got sold and don't know where it is today?!?!?

I just turned 32 (36 now). My wife just finished telling me she is pregnant. I asked her if it was mine, and she smacked me . I turned around and bought my first Corvette... a brand new 04 Z06 off the lot. I figured I was not going to have another chance at a new one... I don't regret a thing ! Oh... and it was my son
