My 97 M6 had the first recall done where they programmed the computer and turned off the fuel cutoff...shortly after the column locked up on me...thankfully I had just received the CLB kit in the mail and was able to get the wheel free after the "pull key wait 10 seconds" message and quickly installed it...
No more issues afterward...though my car still has the locking pin installed, I hope the CLB takes care of this and it does not drop in on me in the near future!
Mine's had ALL the recalls done. 3 seperate ones I believe. I have had the "pull key..." message and fuel cutoff a couple times. but so far it has remedied itself after restart. keeping my fingers crossed.

Never had a problem with the column lock on my '00, but I had the first recall done anyway. However, had the CLB installed before the recall and put it back on after the recall.
Since I'm the second owner of mine, I had no idea what was done, but I knew something was (since the steering wheel never locks), so this past weekend when I had the knee panel off to do my headlight switch mod I took the steering column covers off and looked.
There doesn't seem to be a CLB but there is no locking plate either. The pin is still there and retracts and extends, but the plate itself is gone.
I'm hoping the fuel shut-off has also been disabled but I know of no way of checking.
I had the latest recall done, which removes the steering lock column pin so the steering wheel can never lock again under any situation including with the key removed from the ignition.
