my Hooker catback from autozone came fed ex today. 20 minutes later I was at the muffler shop... My pipe guy was impressed with the fit of everything and it sounds absolutely wicked under hard throttle, and just a little louder and deeper than stock at idle. Just slightly more noise in the cockpit cruising, but its a nicer, deeper tone.
Cost me $85 to get it all installed and welded up, he did a real nice job. tips are aligned perfectly. all told it took him about an hour. I'm happy. He also told me he can install longtubes for me... hmmmmm
my wife told me "in less than 24 hours, you have lowered my car and made it loud!" she then rolled her eyes...

When I had my catback installed by a local muffler shop, they charged me $50. Did a good job. Prices for labor can vary, so it may be that $85 is not a bad install price.

Yea, i figured since everything was welded and not clamped it was a good price. I'm pretty sure he said he gets $65/hour and it took him a little over an hour.
I just assumed when they saw a vette (even a 10 yr old one), the price would go up. but, i think i was treated fairly.
