Default C5 Vert Alarm

A while ago someone had told me about an alarm you could install on a vert that protects from ppl reaching in while the top is down. I lost the PM. anyone know where you can buy this alarm. I think the sensor is connected to the vert rear deck release button and then the standard alarm is triggered.

I think this is what you're looking for. I haven't used it myself. Good luck.

It works for me. Have to de-sensitize it a bit more though. Very good product and easy to install if you are handy

I have done some business with VetteMods purchasing the homelink visor remote and they were great to deal with. I've considered the alarm but I have an 04 vert and the install directions on their website say to use the 3-wire auxiliary harness in the passenger side footwell for the install. For some reason GM does not include this harness that was in the earlier c5's in the 2004. I'm sure it could still be hooked up using wires someone has found by now but that will be down the road for me. I'm not sure when GM stopped putting this aux harness in the C5 so I would suggest you make sure you have it in your car before ordering the alarm kit.

Looks like a pretty straight forward install and good price... Hmmmm....

You could use fuse #22 if you need a switched power supply

Looks like the unit uses a switched connection and a hot connection too. So you will need both plus the ground. Good to know another switched connection though.

I had one on my C4 vert and it worked great. Not sure it was the same brand but it would beep first if you got to close. Then if it keep reading something it would go to full alarm. Mine was set so if i walked by it too close it would beep and then go off if i didn't get away. Never changed it.

This was on my C5 to do list and the installation looks pretty easy so I'm going to get one if it has the beep warning feature.
