Does it count if they used to be Hyperblack?

They are heavier, but lighter than some other aftermarket wheels. The stock wheels are hard to beat as far as weight. I read that the painted 2001 wheel only weighs about 1/2 a pound more than the optional magnesium wheel.

They are called hyper black because they are base painted black, then given a silver layer that is semi-transparent, allowing the black to show thru under certain light. Its the same treatment on the center of my wheels (SSR GT3's). If you flip my wheels over the back of the center section is still black.

Too bad they aren't true "hyper black" because this paint would be amazing:

To help offset the heavier wheels, I went with Michelin PS2 tires which are a few lbs lighter than the stock GY F1 SCs.

On my digital bath scale, I seem to recall the following:

front stock Z06 17 x 9.5 wheels/GY F1 SCs 265/40ZR17: 49 lbs
rear stock Z06 18 x 10.5 wheels/GY F1 SCs 295/35ZR18: 52 lbs

front ACE Slick 18 x 9.5 wheels/Michelin PS2s 275/35ZR18: 52 lbs
rear ACE Slick 19 x 11 wheels/Michelin PS2s 305/30ZR19: 57 lbs

To me, not a huge difference, but to others on this forum they're "too heavy"

I have not noticed any loss in ride quality/handling/performance but I do not track my car (maybe I would on a track ).

Do they offer matching center caps?

I don't care for the mismatched chrome/polished caps with painted wheels.

They come with matching centercaps. See the closeup of the dark green Corvette's wheel. I think some owners added a chrome cap instead. The only things you have to add yourself are a C5 sticker and the tire pressure sensors.

Did you have to modify anything or use spacers to run the C6 Z06 brakes with those wheels? Are the offsets on the wheels the standard offset for the C5 Z06 fitment in those sizes?

Great, thanks. Great looking setup, especially on the silver.

Only silver as far as I know. There is also a chrome version. You could buy the hyperblacks and get them painted gunbarrel gray or whatever color you wanted. That would probably look sharp.
