sorry to hijack but I've been on the fence about what size wheels and tires to go with.

I have two sets of 01 Z06 rims, so I could run either the stagered stock setup, 18" all around or even 17" all around. the car will be used for Autox, HPDE (not trying to compeat in either, just having fun) and backroad twisty stuff and the tires I am going to purchase are the Nitto 555RII.

I've weighed the pro's and con's of each but still can't makeup my damn mind.

17" all around
pros
cheapest replacement
able to rotate f/r (if same size)

cons
least grip of the bunch

stock 17/18
pros
car was engineered from factory with this in mind

cons
can't rotate f/r

18" all around
pros
biggest contact patch
can be swapped f/r (if the same size)

cons
most expensive

did I miss anything?

^ No... I've been doing it since '03 and over 80,000 miles. When I was still tracking the car I was running 17" OEM Grandsport wheels w/ 315s all the way around so I had the exact same height front/back and still had no issues, but I was running w/ all the nannies off on track.

Running staggered wheels 18x9.5 w/ 275s and 18x11s w/ 295s there's still a slight height difference front to back.

If you use 265/35/18 & 295/35/18 tires, there won't be any issues, as these are stock diameters.
