Default Lettering kit

Hi guys,

I've just received a red lettering kit for my rear bumper.
My question is simple : how do you apply those letters on the car?
Something else : I've noticed that the letters are smaller that the inserts in the bumper, it seems not to fit...is that normal?

Clean off the spot where the letters go with some alcohol, once that dries just peal the backing off the letters and apply. No the letters should fit perfect, it sounds like you have letters for the front and you are trying to put them on the back.

Okay, sounds simple.

I have the feeling you're right...I've bought those letter at Zip's and I'm sure I ordered letters for the rear bumper so I contacted them in order to get the correct item...

I agree - sounds like you got a letter set for the front license plate filler cover.

As far as installing the letters - whether you are installing them front or back, preparation is the most important step. The area must be very clean, and totally free of silicone, wax or anything else. Use should use denatured alcohol, 3M Adhesive/Wax remover or in a pinch rubbing alcohol. When finished with removing the wax, I usually wipe the area one more time with clear water and dry thoroughly. Some feel that using a hairdryer or heat gun to warm the area is beneficial. If the vendor provided adhesive promoter - make sure you use that and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Good luck!

you need to use water. spray the water on the bumper and then work the water out from under the letters with a cloth. once they are laying down let it sit for a few hours and then work any remaining water out with your finger. good luck...

Thanks for your replies guys but I think I'll need to have those letters exchanged first.

I have 2 sets of letters (it is mentionned those letters are for front and back) but surprizingly the 2 sets are the same size and as I have a front license plate I actualy don't care about the front letters...

Thank you Zip...
Are they going to send you the ones you ordered at no charge, and pay to return their mistake?
