Default low coolant level

How often has anybody added coolant after a low coolant warning---I have a 1999 with 47000 miles showing.

I added a lot when the radiator had a leak.

due to the sensor in overflow tank. when i would come to a stop at a steep angle at a red light or such. the low coolant light would come on. and after i got back on level ground the warning light would go out. if you low coolant light comes on when the car is level i would check to make sure there is enough coolant in car. i have been told the coolant sensor has gone bad in these cars before.

Thanks, I just drove it about 220 miles from the previous owner. It sat all winter supposedly. I added about a quart to the overflow and I'll monitor it for a while. It was level when the warning appeared. No leak visible right now. No steam or smell either. Thanks again.
