Unfortunately speeding up to past the speed limit (you said you were doing the speed limit, then sped up) is not going to look smart on your part. I know, it's just what they will see. It looks like you might need a lawyer. It will save you a big hassle. Mention how there was traffic and you did no such weaving as he did. You did not expect him to weave through traffic and that he was following you (which is usually illegal too).

Sorry this happened and glad you weren't hurt.

I have called the law on TWO different drunk drivers. BOTH ended up in beer store parking lots getting more beer, I called the law while they were parked. Neither were much interested. The earlier one told me "call me back when he is on the road, we can't do anything in the parking lot". I was sitting in the parking lot waiting for my wife. HE BACKED INTO ME. No damage, Chevy Built Tough truck., BUT, I eventually convinced them on the phone that they needed to keep him off the road. He was obviously drunk, (remember he hit my truck), the cop told his wife to drive and let they him go. Didn't even make him blow, show paper or licence. Wonder how many times he slides before he kills someone. Sometimes I wonder if they are as serious about getting drunks off the road as they say they are. Especially when they think they can get a big fish like a guy in a Corvette for "racing".
Glad no one got hurt, from the looks of the car, it could have gone the other way easily.

I feel for you, drunk drivers need lots of jail time. I've been hit by several drunk drivers, and my brother was killed by one.

Sorry about your bad luck. Drunk drivers should be locked up and the key thrown away!!

PS- not sure I like the new look of your car. Somehow the rear end being put on the front of the car looks a little funky to me!! ( Hope a little humor here is taken in the right way )

I feel for you and totally believe you that you were not racing, just trying to get away from the A-hole. There have been there many times I had to get away from sh_t drivers and clowns that like to ride your azz. I have done the same thing (losing A-holes) and while it may look like your racing in the eyes of others, there is no way out unless you have a camera to record what's happening to help your story fly to law enforcement. People are just plain stupid and get worse when they see a Vette. Best way to handle it is to go slower, pull over to the right and wave them to pass but then again you have to hope your dealing with a rational mind. Sorry to hear what happened but thankful your ok!

That's proof that these cars can take a lick. Glad you're not hurt. The judge told me that I could have avoided an crazy driver by just slowing down and letting them go - BTW: In the end they saw my point and dismissed the ticket.

Good luck.

It's amazing the crashes people have in C5s and walk away unhurt.
Good luck getting the charges dropped

Technically, you could have just slowed down and ignored them and turned off at the 1st opportunity but that is hindsight and you may not have had the chance. Witnesses will all see different things as well. I think you have a pretty good chance especially since the driver and passenger in the other car were under the influence though.
Dude, you need a Lawyer right now

Do not say anything to anybody about this situation. Delete your posts about the incident on this Forum. You have admitted you were doing at least 80mph.

Delete any pics you have posted on 3rd party servers and/or Youtube.

If the other guy's Lawyer is better then yours he will turn this around and you'll end up being AT FAULT for his damage and injuries as well even if they were DUI.

I know this is sucks and you're pissed but let your Lawyer do your talking.

MOST PEOPLE THAT GET CONVICTED ARE CONVICTED BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY SAY. INVOKE YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT AGAINST SELF INCRIMINATION.

Good Luck with everything working out.

Sound advice. But if he didn't do anything wrong, he shouldn't have to worry about these things. All he admitted to was speeding.

Charges are just charges until you are convicted. Most get lessened or dropped. Get legal cousel and good luck with your case.

OK. Picture this.

Prosecutor: "Did you have reason to believe the other driver was impaired?

Answer: Yes

Prosecutor: And knowing this this you still sped up?

Answer: Yes

Prosecutor: So it is possible the other driver may have thought you were "enticing" him to race?

Answer: No. I was was just trying to get away from him.

Prosecutor: Objection. Just answer the question yes or no. So it is possible the other driver may have thought you were "enticing" him to race?

See how it goes....?

GET A LAWYER AND SHUT UP. IMHO

If so, it would show you doing the speed limit at the time of the accident.
Read his post-was going 80 at the time.

Mention to your lawyer that the other guys looked like gang bangers and you thought they might want to do harm to you. Then delete this post and all related.

If you were trying to "out run him" isn't that the definition of RACING?
