Default Wind deflectors

I was wondering if anyone on the forum has one of those wind deflectors for their car.I get a problem with my eyes getting dry and i thought maybe this might help.I have only had the roof off on my 03 once since i have had it due to this problem and i wonder if they do work by keeping the air from blowing on the face.Thank you charlene

I have no experience with the wind deflectors, but can say that the Ventmaster hatch vents really do work. These are the wire brackets that hold the hatch open about 2 inches. This opening allows the air to flow outward and reduces turbulence.

Yep, it looks kinda odd, like the hatch isn't closed properly. But, my wife absolutely cannot tolerate any wind whatsoever, and this allow me to pop the top. There is no wind inside the car at 65 mph!

I was always curious about the Windjammer deflector that sits on the windshield header. A couple of guys told me they didn't do much. One guy swore by his, but wind was about to take his cap off at 50 mph.

The Ventmasters runs about $80 and the Windjammer $200. I got a deal on Ventmasters ($35, I think) from a member.

Never talked with anyone that had the screen deflector behind the seats, so no input there.

Isn't it odd-- there is more wind turbulance in the targa coupe than in the convertible!!!

I also have the vent masters and they work well to keep down the wind.

I take it they are easy to install?I will have to take a look at those since mid america wants almost $200 dollars for theirs.

Charlene,

I can say for sure that the Ventmaster latches work wonderfully for roof-off at-speed driving. I believe they do help keep the wind out of your face area. The reason I say this is because last year me and my wife took our first road trip to Florida. She doesn't like wind in her face, either. With the top down and windows up, she didn't have any complaints. As well, there is no wind baffling (that pressure in your ears at highway speed) inside the cockpit with the hatch latches installed, and you can hear the radio and/or have a conversation with somebody inside the car without shouting!

My ONLY complaints about the latches are:
1. The rubber that goes inside the latch area wears off after a period of use.
2. Sometimes, when you pop the hatch with your keyfob or button inside the cockpit, it doesn't come up. You have to use your keyfob and manually raise the hatch. (no biggie)
3. You have to get used to an increased blind spot over your right shoulder when changing lanes because of the fact that the hatch is raised. (no biggie)
4. People CONSTANTLY tell you "excuse me, your hatch is up..." (again, no biggie.)

Other than that, it is a very worthwhile investment, only second to the Window Valet!

They are kind of tricky at first, but you get used to it after a while. I'd say check somewhere else... $200?? I got mine for $85... from Eckler's if I recall correctly!
