How to Fix Clear Coat
I let a local body shop in my small town paint my black Z06, and now it appears that the clear coat looks thicker in some spots than in others. There is also some dust or crap in the clear. The shop wants me to let them fix it, but I have had enough with them. This is the second time they have clear coated the car. The 1st time someone at the shop color sanded too deep in 6 spots. Can the clear actually be thicker in spots and give that appearance. I am taking it to Birmingham in the morning to a dealership that painted my buddy's new Z06 (new till he wrecked it) and they did a great job, but I just wanted some idea of what to expect when they tell me how they are going to fix it. More color sanding or just sand it down and respray more clear? Thanks, Brandon

someone with experience will not have any problem cleaning it up. Color sanding with a block will help even it out. When I do this I dont get in any hurry. You can really make paint look like a million dollars doing this. Catch is finding someone that will spend the time to clean it up. Hope all goes well.
