Default Ok guys help me out

Alright I need to know, is my center console supposed to open all the way up because it only comes up about halfway. I would say about 40 degrees. I cant figure out if its broken and I don't want to force it because It seems like it would break if its not already. thanks

Just grab hold of the cover and lift up and away at the same time and it will release to the full open

Go ahead and force it. If it only opens to 40 degrees then its broken anyways. Everyone else here is correct and I was the same. It'll open. R/ Al

Open the lid and pull it towards you at the same time - it's double hinged. Once it's open, a little penetrating oil on the hinges will make it work like magic.

Mine was like this too, I bought a new hinge through Gene and now it opens all the way effortlessly.

It wasn't until I tore apart my console and center dash to get to the signal flasher unit that I discovered the console-door secret. Before that I wondered what the hell the engineers were thinking to allow the cover to open only so far.

Yup, just lift the thing up as a whole first, ...then open completely. Now, I understand what those $&$#@# engineers were thinking!
