I'm looking at a 2000 Red FRC, 48000 miles, Hud, Active handling, Dual climate control, polished wheels. Car appears to be completely stock and fairly well cared for, wheels need immediate attention though. Given there is no previous damage and the car drives out good is $20K about right? I would really like to have a convertible but I also love the look of the FRC. Any opinons appreciated. Thanks, John
Don't know where your from(it would help if you filled out your profile) prices vary some depending on your region.I'm from the central mid-west where that price would be mediocre, not bad not real good.I recently got a 2000 FRC for $18,6xx with 55,000 mi.With your miles you could add a few bucks to that,so it's in the ballpark. I'd shoot'em around 18.5 or 19 and see what happens, maybe meet in the middle.Again your profile would help.Good luck on your negotiation, let us know what happens.
You said the wheels need immediate attention, do you mean it needs new tires? Let the buyer assume you would get replacement OEM runflats and take the price of the tires off the final price.... ~18.5K. Even so, 20k isn't terrible.
An FRC with the digital climate control, HUD, and even the Active Handling?
Hmm......
Thats a loaded FRC. I wish mine had HUD and A/H I got floor mats, fog lights and climate control
2090 produced in 2000
Torch Red 543 units (7OU)
digital climate control 1403 units (CJ2)
HUD 1265 units (UV6)
Active Handling 1110 units. (JL4)

Ok, profile updated. the tires appear to be good the wheels are showing a lack of attention. I am assuming the factory polished wheels can be brought back to their origional lustre without too much trouble. I was somewhat surprised at the options also. To those of you who know, did the FRC's have power passenger seats as an option? The driver seat is power, the passenger is not. Any particular areas of concern for this model that I should look for. Thanks again, John
It's a lot of work to refinish the polished wheels. They have a clear coat which must be removed then polished and re cleared. If there isn't any dents or curb rash you could send them out to a wheel shop to be redone for around $100 per wheel. Or look to some after market wheels in the near future.
As mentioned no passenger power seat, deleted to save weight. I love my FRC it's tight no squeaks and just looks cool. Bill

Check and see if it's had "Column Lock" issues or if the actual
recall service has been performed,if it's an MN6.Column lock
is a problem with 97-00 'Vettes with manual.
Sounds very high to me, I think something like 17-18K max would be a good price. Not sure if a FRC adds a lot to the value if any, but you could do much better for 20k
My wife 2000 FRC (red/red) with 23,000 miles , one owner, new tires. Alpine stereo. We bought almost two years ago for $23,500 from Huntington Beach, California.
We turned down a 2000 FRC Pewter color with 44,000 ( second owner for 5 years). Had new OEM tires, polished OEM rims, new brakes and front rotors, Wolf car cover and wheel covers. He wanted $17,000 but got down to $16,000 without even dickering hard. (wife did not car for the color).

i think 20k is a bit high, but to each his own.. i bought a 00 frc with 58k miles- doug rippie top end- entire car was painted by a master painter...i mean the black paint was like a mirror. i was told the person who i bought it from owned a high end - benz, rolls etc. body shop and also did the paint work for rippie- i paid 18,500 and the owner drove it from michigan to ri for me to buy it..talk about conviction about me being satisfied...it would have been a long way home if the car didnt meet my standards...anyways mine had the magnesium wheels- 2500 option from gm... bottom line...if you love it buy it....if it isnt everything you want pass or shoot the guy an offer for 17000...people tend to do crazy things when they see 170 ben franklins sitting on the car hood.
I plan to drive the car and put it up on a lift today if work allows. Thanks for all the info. Is there a site I can go to that will show me what the base FRC came with and what all the options were? I own a 95 Impala SS that I purchased new and the options list was extremely short.
I am a little anxious about the drive. I have always wanted a Corvette but, every time I drove one I was diappointed in the ride and build quality. The ones I have driven were used C4's and no offence to C4 owners but I wasn't impressed. I understand that the C5's are much better in that reguard.

I own both a 91 C4 convertible and a 99 FRC C5 and the difference between the two cars is amazing. MUCH better ride and handling in the C5.
I owned a C3 for 15 years and sold it. I'd ridden in several C4's and didn't get turned on. I drove a buddy's C5 and bought one within 6 months. Totally different car than the C4's, you'll luv it!
Just the natural progression of things.C4s better than C3s,C5s better than C4s. Imagine my jump,C3 to C5,,,,Love'm both in their own way.Best of both worlds,Rowdy 427 shark fast refined FRC.
Well I drove it today and it is a much improved car over the C4 in my opinion. However I believe I will pass on this one, mainly because it is the only one I have driven and the first Corvette driven in over ten years. I don't have any buddies who own a Corvette to bounce things off of and I may need to educate myself a little more at least until a deal I can't pass up comes along. I do believe this car can be bought for less than the asking price but I'm going to keep looking.
Anyone looking for a Red 2000 FRC I'll pass along what I know. I may even be able to provide a link to some pics. Car is in Hopkinsville, KY about 12 miles north of Fort Campbell on the Ky/Tenn state line.
