I never had any problems with the flanges, but I generally try to avoid slip-fits at all costs with any headers. Also, they will eventually rust (how long just depends on where you live...might take 5yrs in FL with no salt on the roads, or 1 year up north). The rust will first begin to appear near the collectors.
My favorite thing about coated headers is the ability to change spark plugs 30 minutes after shutting the car off because they cool so fast.
