Well i have a friend with an o1 z06 with 432 rwhp he has dynatech headers a big cam lingenfelter stage 3 heads intake corsa exhaust tune and all that
And i saw a 2003 c5 push 443rwhp with a similar setup the only difference was kooks headers and a ported stock tb
So mods dont stretch too far but ive seen stock c5's with headers cam and everything except heads pushing close to 420 if not in the 420's I must also say that i have seen an 02z push 451rwhp with everything including heads but its different on every car

But the stock c5 manuals have 375lb ft of torque 10 less than the 01 z and 25 less than the 02.

I totally agree with you when it comes to track times every tenth of a sec counts but as far as feel i dont think you really feel the difference in a few tenths of a sec at least i dont

The FRCs and Z06 are noticably stiffer and more responsive than Coupes to me.

Stiffer But not more aerodynamic. I wanted to say that from the get go but i didnt wanna get slammed by alot of z06 owners. I thought i was the only one to think that but i had someone put it out there before me.

All you keep talking is the power difference between a coupe and a Z, there is alot more to it than just that. If I am not mistaken my coupe weighs in over 3,600 lbs and my Z is just under 3,200 lbs. Couple that with the better suspension, more power, and better traction, I don't see see how you can't feel the difference. Maybe you need to wind both of them out alittle so you don't have to do the 1st to 4th shift.

Ive had 2 C5's , a 98 and a 2000(my 98 was quicker than my 2000), there is a big difference in my 01 Z06, its faster in all rpms, revs much quicker also. As far as handling, not even close the runflats that came with the original C5's were primitive junk. The F1 non run-flats took huge steps forward.

3600lbs??? WHAT??? Ive never heard such from what i know the c5 is 100lbs or a little more than the z06. The driving feels the exact same to me nothing different to me. Check out corvette museum it will let you know the little differences in the c5 and the z06 there was not much refinement between the two the c5 is also more aerodynamic than a z06 but i cant tell.

No first of all u missed the whole point i didnt say either car was crap i just said there was no difference between a c5 z and a c5 not in my opinion yall take it out to something its not so its two of basically the same car the same body shape no difference but the rear window. So get outta here with that. If a Z06 makes you feel on top of the world so be it. Wow my little 35-55 horsepower makes me feel superior. Hahaha thats funny

As I stated I don’t mean to offend. However the ZO6 is a total package! Not simply 35-55 more horsepower. If you cant tell that you dont need a ZO6!

And u drive a z16 right? If so be serious man you basically have a car that's built for the track. That car runs a what 7:53 around the gring and that also has different suspension so that should be different all around

Don’t forget the rear end ratio, and the transmission ratios.
