"Ignorant people on this forum" as you stated... These groups of men and women on this forum are exceptional... the fact that they alone share there knowledge with others is awesome,IF WE ARE ALL IGNORANT GO AWAY JUST GO AWAY

Like I said, I have plenty of experience with both a pristine C5 and my C5Z. It doesn't hurt my feelings if someone doesn't think the Z06s are that much better than the C5s. However, the suspension, gearing, weight, tire and power difference are very noticable to me. The C5Z is a much more engaging experience...a true race-car on the street feeling. I chose the C5Z over a C6 because of the visceral feel and style.

Hi turk2gk -

Oh heck yes - I find a world of difference - the C5 Z has much more nimble feeling steering feedback, and a lot more pull on the top end.

I suppose if you were just twaddling around town it could be hard to pick out the nuances.

best regards -

My wife and I own both a 2000 FRC and 2001 ZO6. Ask my wife if there is a difference between our two cars performance. The answer will be "sure is". You're not gonna call my wife a liar are you?

I think Turk might be on to something here. I now realize that my Zo6 performs the same as a c-5 coupe. I wish I had known this sooner,as I would not have wasted the extra money for such items, which add no performance benefit. Such as: stiffer body, less weight, brake cooling, trans cooling, trans. gearing, lighter + wider wheels and tires, better shocks, larger sway bars, unigue styling, plus increased **** power and torque, better resale. Did I miss anything? Boy do I feel like a dope, when all I had to do is buy a C-5 coupe. Wait till I tell Gm about this!

This entire thread just sounds like bitterness if you ask me... but if you truly think there is not much of a difference then so be it, that's your opinion... but you're obviously not going to convince anyone else on this forum that there isn't much of a difference, so let it go, man.

Well you just proved to be a Troll, the 3.42 final drive is the same, but the gear ratio's in the each gear are higher, which in actuality make the Z06 acceleration like it has a final drive = to a 3.90, you haven't done any research, and just made yourself look like a fool. Your integra comment revealed that you are a 17 year old punk trying to start trouble and doesn't know s**t, go back to the ricer forums Troll.

I think most competent drivers would feel a difference just from the higher performance tires and more aggressive alignment settings.

I'm guessing (and hoping) that a mod locks this thread soon. Legitimate questions should be discussed or answered, but we can all see with this thread that this is someone that's just looking to pick a fight and argue with everyone.

However, if I'm wrong, then my apologies. Cars are like computers in many ways. I totally agree that in many cases, you won't be able to notice much of a difference at all between a great car and a greater car... same with a fast computer and one that's faster. Not until you push the computer beyond mundane tasks such as checking email, writing a note in notepad, etc. will you notice the extra performance. Start gaming, rendering hi def video, doing anything graphics-intensive, or whatever... then you'll notice a huge difference. Same goes for the C5 and the C5 Z06. I just can't fathom that even a small amount of "spirited driving" in the C5 and Z06 wouldn't reveal the differences between the two cars. But then there are people out there that can't tell the difference between a fast computer and a faster computer either.

So drive both cars some more, do some actual performance research (not just corvettemuseum.com), and check into spelling/grammar lessons. Doing all that will add credibility to your claims and discussion.

If you can't tell the difference, get a stock C5, save some bucks and live happy.
