What’s up with some C5 Z owners making their interior like what you would find in a ricer (. I have looked at 5 C5Z's in the past couple weeks and have found one of the following or more than 3 of the following.
Seat covers
Aluminum grills
Center console covers
Ugly shift boots that don’t match at all
Strobe lights
Clear corners
Euro looking tail lights that look like crap
What happened to the completely stock interior Z’s?
I guess I like the “Clean” look , I’ve done this to all my cars and seems to appeal to more buyers when selling it. I know I can change it and put it all back to the way it was but I guess I might have to start thinking that then
i have depo headlights, but i got them for the projectors. stock rest of the interior... i too am a stickler for not doing retarded looking mods to the interior.
What's wrong with center console covers? I was thinking of getting one for mine. They are higher quality material, and the Z06 logo goes well with those on the seats in my opinion.

Maybe so .. but if you saw the ones that were on this Z you would be like
I have noticed this too over all C5s. Steering wheel inserts, dash/console inserts, etc. all color coded to the exterior. I think it looks very stupid. It's my preference to only modify the powertrain, brakes and suspension on a car. The cosmetics inside and out should stay stock. ALL COSMETIC MODS LOOK RICE.

Anyways, my car was owned by a Palm Beach Police officer before me and came with strobes & HID's. I wouldn't classify them as "RICE" by any means because they are never on. Now, if I was driving down the road with them on I could see your point (and I'd need your bail $$).
I've seen a lot of "odd" mods here over the years.. Just remember, it's not your car, is it? Be happy with what you've got

In general, I agree with this and the OP. However, there are interior and exterior mods that I would do such as double DIN nav system and tigershark front facia. But I think it would be best kept to ourselves. Many people with these mods will read this and they really don't need to know that we feel this way. Some people mod for the sake of modding. I mean really, does having a 2 tone steering wheel improve your car's looks? Just because vette essentials and mid america sell something does not mean it's always a great idea. But the C5 attracts more types of enthusiasts than just the hard core performance guys and the purists. There will always be enough stock interior C5Z06's to keep those of us who like them that way happy .

I went to a show and a purist came by and started saying this wasn't
correct and that was the wrong clamp ect. I asked him where his car
was and he pointed to it. I said good, this one belongs to me and I will
change anything I want and that he needed to go back to his car.
