I see a lot of DIY's for repairing the infamous rocking seat (which I have) but I haven't seen any DIY's for repairing the seat back so it stays locked. Basically, when decelerating, the passenger seat back tips forward *when unoccupied, of course). Any ideas on how to fix this?
I had mine apart the other day(not for the same reason); however, I did notice that it looks relatively simple...A small pin inserts itself in a slot when the release button is dis-engauged. I would first undo the back of the seat cover and work the button to see if it maybe just is not completely seating itself.
Adjust the unoccupied seat to the fully forward position
Recline the seat to the fully rearward position and release the recliner handle to lock the seat back
Release the unoccupied seat to the fully upright position and release the recliner handle to lock the seat back. This will allow both the outboard and the inboard recliner mechanisms to release and resynch to the fully upright position
Check the seatback recliner mechanism for resynchronization by applying pressure with your hand to the headrest.
It is normal for the seat back to come forward several inches. It is for ease of placing items behind the seat with one hand (without unlocking seat back).

Easy and worth trying first
I'm gonna try that once I get home. My seat twists on the left side whenever my seat isn't all the way to the back.

I had the twisting seat issue also, but the fix was only temporary on my seat, so I bought seats from a local forum member. That fixed it once and for all.
