I went with the coupe because I like the lines of the car, plus I just felt better having a hard top, than the vert top. In addition to that, I did like having alot more room in the coupe to carry stuff if I needed too..not that I pack all kinds of luggage, but the extra space has come in handy more than once.. like at the CruiseInn. I can probably haul twice the amount of stuff (chairs, coolers, suitecase etc) than someone with a vert.

In the end though, like the rest of said..drive both if you can all Vettes Rock no matter what. Get what You think you will enjoy more.

1st of all, you would look good in anything...that being said, how about a 03 ae coupe, take the targa top off and let the sun shine in. i love converts but i do worry about getting in an accident and overturning, the coupe affords a lot of protection BUT you do as you please, just have fun. good luck

Default Some decisions I can't make

Hi Erin,
Welcome to the forum.Being a retired usaf guy. I would consider this:Is California going to be my last duty station? If so the vert would be probably a wise choice because of the year round climate.Personally I like the coupe as you have the best of both worlds & more storage space in the trunk area, plus no convertible top to wear out or tear.
Now that I,am a little older I don't like the wind noise & the hot sun beating down on our heads. The glass top is great in the fall & spring here in central Pa.
Its your choice enjoy.Buying one that is completely stock is the way to go.You'll be cool in either seat.

Hi Erin, welcome to the family! I have an 03 vert, triple black, and I wouldn't trade it for anything......once you go topless, you'll never go back.......

I always liked my friends T-Top Camaros, so I originally planned on getting a Coupe. Convertible was never an option for me because I don't like the way they look with the top up (probably not an issue for you). I'd go with a convertible if I were in your shoes.

That said, I couldn't resist the incredibly sexy look of a blue FRC:

I would very much so like to go topless...The hubby I dont know much about...We have talked about it and seeing as he has a coupe it would make sence to go with the topless so we both can have the best of both worlds...but he told me that he didnt think he would be able to be a passanger in my vette.

you would have a blast with a vert...so much fun..so that's what I would do. Decide on the color you want and wait for the right one to come along. I really like EB....so that would be very cool! Good luck!

I also had to go for an FRC but the problem for me then was that I didn't drive manual but now im teaching my cousins and friends how to drive manual.

I also wanted a torch red vette but I ended up getting black. I do plan to get a torch red.

I waited a long time on my first Corvette, and after looking a few months I decided that anything bu a Vert would be settling for less than I always wanted. I love driving it with the top down in the early evening. My wife enjoys it too. Now that I have owned one, I would probably go for a Coupe next time. No particular reason other than driving a Vert with the top up feels wrong and I'm not up to driving with the top down in 50 degree weather.

My vote is for a convertible. Just like the original was, you know, how it was meant to be.
The vert has a nice trunk for luggage for a road trip even with the top down.
With the coupe once you place the targa top back there then there goes your room for stuff. Besides if he has a coupe then you should get the convertible that way you two have a choice when heading out for a nice cruise. Life is about choices right??

The convertible is the only way to go...I have had T-tops, hard-tops, and no-tops... The only way to go is the no-tops when given the opportunity. You will not be sorry choosing the no-tops option.

I think you just need to look at Barbie.

Convertible Corvette. And that B___ has everything.

I understand your husbands point of view though. I would feel completley whipped sitting in the passanger seat of a vert with my wife driving

Erin, a big Canadian welcome to the Forum

Lots of vert votes here but to me, nothing beats the lines of a coupe...that big sloping back window is just plain ol' sex appeal from a car design point of view. If I want wind in my hair, then the targa top comes off...looks even sexier with the roof off!!

We only have the one and my wife and I travel alot with the car. The coupe can accomodate all sorts of luggage and is a great traveling car.

Never say never but I can't ever see myself owning a vert...nice car, don't get me wrong, by IMHO, it doesn't hold a candle to the shape of a coupe

Just one guys opinion...good luck with your decision and your search

Have a vert, love the vert. You can always get a HT for it if you want the FRC look.

I have a coupe but if you really want to drive with the top down, get the vert. Driving with the top off a coupe is not all the pleasant, in fact I rarely do it.

If you get a 'vert you could get a plate frame that says "Sometimes I go topless"

... ok. maybe you can get that even with a coupe.

Nevermind.

Welcome Erin,
My advice is a little different. Suggest you find a local Vette car show and go look. Whatever body style/color that you keep wanting to go back to look at again, is your choice. Take your time, lots of C5s for sale...Good Luck
