A4 Launch Techniques

Hey guys, I am going to the strip for the 1st time and need some advice on launching techniques. Car is a 2002 A4 coupe with headers, vararam, 3.42 gears and street tires (non-run-flats). I tried a launch today and spun the tires, remaining virtually in place with TC off.

I'm hoping the track gives better traction. What is the best technique? Thanks so much. Tim

My car ran better launching from idling, but now I have a trans brake so it will be a different story next time I go to the track!

You will get better traction at the track. When you see the last amber light flash hit the gas and hold on.

what i've heard is to put the trans in "3" with the TC "off" you may want to try it with and without the TC on the street to get a feel for what sticks the best.
