Just buy both, then you have the best of both worlds.

From: Calgary, AB. There's a reason why white was the only color offered on every year Corvette. Proud Canadian German Jamaican!

It's easier to turn a vert into a Z06 than vice versa. Verts all the way besides, they're worth more (C5) and get more looks.

I chose the vert because of the magnetic selective ride, it's awesome. I put on Z06 sway bars to help with the body roll on the track.

I guess we all prefer the one we drive for the obvious reason. That was the one we chose
All I can say is I don't regret my choice for one minute despite the Brit climate

Who gives a crfap what other people on a forum like? Personally I like the LOOKS of my Z06 better than the vert (especially with the top up). It is a daily driver that can just as easily clean up real nice for the weekend or be at home on the track. Sounds like a lot of people like the look of their verts better. Get what you want and stop worrying what other people think.
In your O.P. you didn't say anything about looks, just comfy drive. If that's the deciding factor for you then leave the Z06 to those who properly enjoy it and cruise in your vert. With a Z06 you either get it or you don't. I wouldn't trade my 95% stock Z06 for any C5 vert out there.

You may be able to make a vert fast... but to turn one into a Z06? Easy? I think not.

I personally like the way a Z06 rides, but if you're looking for comfy, this ain't it. It rides sports car stiff and on rough roads, it can beat you to death (parts of Louisiana comes to mind, along with any road construction area).
I like the looks of both over the coupe. Take a ride in each and make your own decision.

I agree. I took mine to Lingenfelter to make it faster than a Z06 and they also had to do suspension and frame stiffening work. Very pricey.

With my Lingenfelter receipts, you could buy a nice Z06. But, fortunately for me the mods were done when I bought the car.
