My buddy is really p****d off right now and when youre in that way sometimes you dont think straight so I thought Id bounce this off the forum. My buddy's girlfriend scratched his vette during a fight and of course hes going to get it fixed as soon as he comes down off his roof. The problem is hes had issues in the past with body shops and hes gunshy about them. When we talked about it, he was giving serious consideration taking his vette to Maaco. Its never made my list as far as body shops and I didnt think it was a good choice. Has anyone out there dealt with Maaco with their Corvette or know any body who has? Also any pros and cons would be helpful, thanks.
i have seen the 700 dollar maaco job on my sisters ford taurus and think it would look great on a vette.
JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I he F-ing Crazy? I have never seen a crappier paint job in my entire life. tell him to have some dignity and go to a real shop. Its like going to a fancy restaurant and getting an $80 dollar steak and then going and asking for it well done and smothered in ketchup. Please smack him in the back of the head for me, im too far away.

This is a time when a friend does the right thing for a friend ... take his keys away from him until he sobers up and realizes what an INCREDIBLY stupid idea Maaco is .... oh, and slap him in the back of the head for me too ... I'm also too far away ....
I read his ABOUT on the website ..... with a background story like that, you KNOW this is a place to take a car for bodywork ..... If he wasn't 2000 miles from me I'd use him .....
So he is gunshy about bodyshops yet he is considering one of the worst ones possible?
Don't most people who have bad experiences with a business try to find one of the BEST places the next time so that they have a better chance of having a good experience??
check out the local maaco at with the better business bureau.
That said, if you talk with them and get the scoop, their price goes up substantially if you have them do their highest quality paint job with the proper prep work done - so you end up with not much savings, and the low bidder trying his best to do a quality job. Not usually the best idea.
