tire pressure sensor ????
I took my C5 out for a ride today first time since Nov. The tire pressures were fine but on the way back, I got an error message Service Tire Mon. System. I hit the reset and looked an the right rear said RR XXX. I let it sit for a few hours and drove around the block. Now it says RR___ (blank). My question is the sensor dead or does it needs to be reprogramed now that the RR___ is blank.

The battery in that sensor is gone. Time for a new sensor. www.gmpartshouse.com
A relearn costs nothing so you could try but 10 years on your 98 is about right for battery life.Dont forget, your 98 has the older (unfortunately more expensive) sensors. If one is on its way order the full set and have them all done together. Chances are they'll all fail soon.
Maybe time to upgrade the tires as they will have to come off to fit them.
