I would bet that you don't have an X-pipe installed on your car. If you have an X pipe the pop will be removed. With the X-pipe you idle sound will be quieter as well. It all depends on what sound you are looking for and like.
I know with mine if I hammer it when it shifts from 1st to 2nd I get a strange sound that could be considered a backfire. Sounds kind of strange but performance is good, and like I said it only does it at WOT. I don't have X pipe and cats are still there.
I've got Corsa's and know exactly what you mean...add the x-pipe (I also have stock cats)...it'll get rid of most if not all the popping...you'll still have a "gurgle" noise when you down rev though (livable)...good luck...

If you dont have cats then it will still pop with a X-pipe.
I have Corsa Indy with no x-pipe... coming into the neighborhood, deceleration and going down-hill... P-P-POW... I love it!! The neighbors know I am home.
I've got Dynatech Supermaxx LT's ceramic coated in and out, Hi flow cats, X-pipe and Corsa touring and NO popping, Sounds awesome at hi rpm, I love 'em.
Installation of the Corsa's was a snap. Used a lift and also installed Z06 sway bars front and rear. about 2 hours.
Tip alignment was easy.
