What would?
Picked up my car last night from the body shop and I pulled the seat belt out and it stopped, not enough to get around me. I let it go back in and tried to pull it out again but now it won't even come out an inch. What would cause that and how can I fix it?
Sounds like the catch that tightens the belt when you slip forward is outa whack Wayne. There is a mechanism in there that when there is enough forward pressure, it keeps the belt from coming out forward anymore than it already is. Then when the pressure is relieved, it lets it operate normally. I know they are very touchy in mine. The least little bit of forward movement locks you in place.(great for an accident)
Maybe play with it some and see if it releases. Or jack the front of the car up so it is higher than the rear. This would make it think it was moving backward. Then play with it to get it to release the inner catch.
Good luck! Let us know what you find in there.

Thanks Guys, I'll be looking into it tonight after I figure out why my stereo is not working. Man I had to drive home last night with no seat belt and no tunes.... But the car looks fantistic.....
wayne check to see if anything is lodged in the retractor gear. I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. Ended up that a quarter somehow got stuck perfectly to lock the retractor gear.

Wait till you come down here and I will fix it. You can just give me that quarter as a tip so I can get that performance hood seal I have been waiting for all my life

I'll probably just pull the sill trim off so I can in there and see the belt itself... Not that hard to pull off. God know I've done it a bunch of time doing stereo upgrades, sound deadening etc.....
