Anyone have some pictures they can post? There aren't any pictures available on their site. What shifter **** will these shifters accept (C5, C6Z06). What do they cost?

A guy in another thread told me he got his for 204 shipped direct from MGW
Mine was 264, but that included the "Gripper" ****.
Something no one mentioned - the side to side effort seems to require the arms of a gorilla... the bias springs are very heavy. So heavy that I pulled mine out and put the stock shifter back in until I could get some lighter springs (I would have just left the springs out altogether but they hold the pivot ball in it's socket too). It's better now, but still a bit of an effort, mostly due to the shorter shift. It's probably a great shifter for drag racing, but for the street it's a bit much IMO. I'm going to see if MGW makes a longer threaded shaft for this shifter. An inch should be enough to lighten the load a bit (even if lengthening the shift).
I don't mind a "notchy" shifter, but I don't really like one that is heavy. Maybe I'm just too soft in my old age...
The Pro 5.0 shifter in my old Mustang was much better...

Where did you get the softer springs? Mine is also rediculously hard with the side to side motion. Goes into gear awesome, but my arm actually is sore after a drive and I'm not weak. Softer springs would be a huge help. Don't know if I can live with it like this.

Agreed, the Pro 5.0 is the best shifter ever made by anyone anywhere at anytime in history! the space shuttle has a pro in it i heard.
seriosly, i do love that shifter. i have literally never missed a 2-3 shift on it and dont worry about yanking it back into gear and bending any internals.

OK, fess-up time... Home Depot. I bought a small package of 4 springs, two each of different sizes and used the 1/2" (diameter) ones. They were a bit too long so I trimmed about 3 coils off the end (the button wouldn't go completely up into the top so I was worried about binding going into reverse). The button that rides on the shaft that's through the ball fits kind of loose, but since it's in a "tunnel" I don't see a problem. I put the button on the uncut end.
Works for me...

i wonder why they dont make one for us?
Good question... maybe they could call it the Pro C5?
you guys need to be aware that the corvette is a whole different animal to the mustang. our mustang shifters are rated the best in the industry by just about EVERY forum and magazine that has tested them too.
the springs on the corvette shifter we make are twice as WEAK as the mustang shifters. its the added pressure of the tranny return springs that make it seem harder but i got to say i can shift my corvette with 2 fingers over to first i just do not get why it seems so hard for some people
weaker springs are going to make it easier to shift INTO first but they are also going to make it easier to hit first when you want THIRD!!!!

I appreciate the reply George. Perhaps there is a variation in the tranny somewhere that causes some to be stiffer than others. Maybe the Z06 M12 is harder than the standard M6 in a base C5? But I can tell you I bench 250lbs and this thing is tough to get into first, fifth, sixth and reverse. Shifting 1-4 is flawless, no doubt, but if I tried put my MGW into first with two fingers I think they'd break off.
Can I expect it to get better with time? I've only put maybe 50 miles on it so far.
