Default Uptight Wheel Analysis

So, for those of you who have seen me posting about my up coming wheel purchase, you can probably tell that I am waffling like a politician. I have a few options to consider and, having an analyst background so I have put together the following. If you were so inclined, your input would be appreciated.

Wheel Option: Ruff Racing R278
Size: 18x9.5/19x9.5
Pros: Low cost, easily available, nice looking
Cons: Weight, lower quality of chrome (appears not as elegant as others), some owners have reported needing spacers
Availability New: Yes
Availability Used: No
Wheel Cost: $900
Total Tire/Wheel/TPS/Lugs/Shipping Cost: $2,700 (non-custom chrome option)
Link: http://www.statuswheels.com/wheels/w...=46&brand_id=2
Note: May get ‘hyper black’ and pay for high quality chrome job

Wheel: CCW 505a/T10
Size: 18x10/19x11
Pros: High quality, more elegant, easily available
Cons: High cost, time for cleaning appears to be a concern for many owners
Availability New: Yes
Availability Used: Yes, limited
Wheel Cost: $2,600
Total Tire/Wheel/TPS/Lugs/Shipping Cost: $4,100
Link: http://www.ccwheel.com/files/wheelpr...ay.php?id=505a
Note: Could also custom chrome wheels to get around cleaning problem

Other options considered:
diesel671's Imola's
http://www.bozeforged.com/ (Custom Made Wheel)
http://www.d2autosport.com (Sevas)

Thoughts anyone?

Your first two links are the same wheel. I haven't seen the wheels I'd pay $4K for. You choose.

My recommendation - the CCWs. Excellent quality, great customer service. Yes the upkeep is more, but the looks are awesome.

I suggest photoshopping the wheels to a pic of your car. You'll see what they look like and have no regrets after the purchase.

Very true!

CCW are by far the best bang for the buck, that said I love my iForged Aeros and considering what comparable HRE wheels cost, the iForged I have were a great value. I still had a hard time writing the checks for the wheels and tires but 3 years later, my wheels and tires (and flares) still make me smile!

So, don't scrimp on wheels, get what you want and you'll be happy for a long, long time. And the higher end wheels also have good resale value.

Still need to fix one of the first two links. It's the same link for both.

I think you should compare these ...
1. Ruff with stock repro (not that much money to spend)
2. CCW with Iforged or HRE (Too much money in the bank )

I was in the same dilemma as you, except it was Cray Scorpions vs. CCW 505a.

I could easily buy the lower priced Crays, but after doing a lot of thinking I realized every time I looked at my car, I would be saying to myself, "The Crays look nice, but I really wish I had sprung for the CCWs'".

So of course I bought the CCWs'.

Anyone have thoughts on chrome plating the CCWs? Who would be the best to use? How does one find a good chrome plate'r?

I did pretty good on your final decision
Cray and CCW are just like apple and orange to me
I would put Cray, Ruff, and stock repro in the same class.
