Default Changing the battery - Tools

The instructions I have for changing the battery call for disconnecting the negative cable, then the positive cable, removing the hold down retainer bolt, removing the old battery, installing the new battery and reattaching the cables and retainer bolt.

What type of tools/size sockets do I need for this? Can someone recommend a small torque wrench for torquing the cables and retainer bolt to 11-13 lbs ft.

Thanks,
Mordi

I've never in all my life heard of anyone using a torque wrench to change a bettery.

It only needs to be tight enough to not come loose. Do not overtighten.

The hold down bolt is 1/2". You'll need a socket, long extension and a ratchet.

The terminals are 5/16. You'll need a box wrench for them.

Just be careful not to overtighten the cable bolts.

And if you have the stock radio, disable the security first otherwise you'll lock it.
