I'm supposed to get my LTs installed in a week and a half and I can't believe how much I keep waffling on them - the main reason is that right now (with just bullets on the car) it sounds 'perfect' - it has what I would define as the right amount of burbbling, popping, bark, aggressiveness,etc...
Last time I had a V8 exhaust where I defined it as 'perfect', I kept playing around with it trying different cat backs and was never satisfied with it again.
If you can recall what your sounded w/ and w/o the LTs (Assuming you had bullets), have you ever regretted installing them because of how the tone or bark changed?
Don't Half A-- it. Go w/ the LG long tubes,X pipe , Hi flo cats. You did things in reverse. You should have put the other on first, & now be putting the BB Bullets on. Go w/ the complete LG setup , you & your Vette will love it! Good luck, Bob.

That's how the car came, not how I did it
It'll be LG Pros, xpipe and probably no cats (or maybe cats, I don't know - everything I've read indicated that there's not too much of a sound difference between cats/no cats, the main difference being allt he popping w/o cats) ..... I'm just afraid of loosing the, as I see it, perfect aggressive tone it has right now
I have heard LT's h/c and Bullets. I sounds great. Perfect sound IMO.
The reason I have not done the bullets is you will be heard buy everyone within a 5 mile radius. Having said that I still may get a set. It just sounds so good.
I agree, if you don't like the sound after the LT install you can sell or trade the bullets for something else, but at least the headers will add power and not just noise.
I have kooks custom longtube and bullets. Sounds great and only realy has the popping or burbbling sound on a harder down shift. Love it as it is 90% of the time. Only complaint is that it makes a deep drone noise in 6 gear every time you give it a little gas to accelerate. Once you are at speed it does stop though. Takes a little away from the radio quality as well. But, sounds unreal when you get on it.
I had the same situation as you, already had bullets, deciding what to do about the LT's. Picked up as set of LG Pros, X pipe, and high flow cats.
I LOVE IT now that I've done it!! I actually found that the drone at 2K rpm has moved lower in the rpm range which is good because it's now outside the normal driving range. The sound has gotten more aggressive, and yes it is loud enough to wake the dead when you get on it, but if you drive with some awareness of your surrounding you shouldn't have any problems.

I fail to see how you can do a exhaust system backwards. It all works together. If you did Lt's first or last is all gonna work for the greater good of the car. And for the OP a partition is a must for a full system.

You start @ the motor w/ exhaust. If you pay to have your work done, which it seems many people do, your paying twice for labor job when starting @ the back w/ catbacks& then deciding later you want an x-pipe& later after that, you decide to go w/ the headers. Thats all adds up to alot more labor and or $ when you add it all up. I myself, like to do my own work & try to do alittle research (especially here on this forum) before buying & starting most mods. This forum has helped me out alot since day one of owning my first Vette. Good luck, Bob

Show me where in the bible of cars that says, you have to start at the motor for exhaust.
Don't knw how long you been messin with cars, but a axel back system is a hell of a lot less trouble to drop than a set of headers. He's tryiing to gage his sound. He likes the tone, mabe all he needs is a X pipe set up to get what he wants. Full blown headers may take him over the top. then what? He's got a to loud exhaust that he can't stand. So now he needs to get rid of he B&B bullets. Why??? because its eaiser to drop the axel back than headers.

your so right, there,s no comparrison in labor/$ involved in putting on or taking off cat backs or headers. We dont know if he has an H pipe or an x pipe, his profile is not filled out.

Oh I don't mind if it's louder, it's just I don't want to loose the agressiveness of it
I guess all my doubts stemmed from the fact that when people install BB for the first time, they're like 'holy @#$#@, this is loud'. Then after they install headers, I don't really read nearly as many posts abot 'holy @#$#@ this is hella louder and meaner'.
Then again, maybe I'm just over-thinking this at this point
I have a 402 with a procharger, bbk shorty headers, x-pipe and bullets, let me tell you it is much louder than my stock 03 is with lg long tubes and bullets. The 03 sounds perfect, the 01 with the 402 is brutally loud at 2k rpm.

It's going to be loud as $H!# with the LGs and the BBs. If it's just about sound then leave it alone. I put mine on b/c I wanted the extra 40RWHP which was way more important to me than sound. I had the chance to hear my buddies car with LG LTs and Borla Stingers and knew that was louder than I wanted so I left the TIs on. Perfect IMHO, but not loud enough for some.
