Default Jacking Pucks (Snap In)

Ok I bought the snap in BMW jacking pucks. They work fine on the rear but wont attach to the front.

Anybody have this issue?

Also where is the cheapest vendor that has real Jacking Pucks?

Make your own for about 15 bucks. I bought 4 hockey pucks and drilled a hole in the middle and found some eye bolts and screwed em in. works perfect!

Default Lifting pucks

Can someone explain the purpose of the lifting pucks. Will I need them to jack the car up? Are they to prevent frame damage or possible body damage? Just curious. I'm picking up my first C5 this afternoon.

Thanks, Matt

Body damage. The body panel wraps down under the car.

Here's a write up on lifting a C5

They are used to prevent damage to the rockers when lifted wrong. People just lift them up and the feet catch the rockers underneath the car and can crack them.

The BMW pucks ....are "real jacking pucks" all 4 of mine snapped in and have not come loose or out since December. Are you sure they all snapped in right?

FYI: My car has rocker savers, and I had to alter the jacking pucks to get a level fit.

I don't understand...the slots in the frame are the same front and rear. They should work unless you're not aligning them correctly for the snap in installation. If the car is really low, it's a little difficult to see to position them, but one of my BMW pucks was harder to install than the other three. I had to use a SFH for a little persuasion.
They've been installed for two years now and I have no concerns about forgetting to bring them with me, leaving them behind at a shop, or leaving them in place and hearing/seeing them fall out to bounce off another cars windshield.

These pucks from Elite Engineering are the real McCoy. If you don't use them to jack the car you could use them as paperweights:

Mind you, the slots at the front are the same as the ones at the back. If they dont fit I'd be worried as to why.

I've had 4 BMW pucks in my car for over 3 years with no problems. I just leave them in, they don't fall out. I don't know what you're doing wrong but if they fit the back they should fit the front.

Glad this reminded me, just order a set of Elite red pucks. I have the rubber one's, don't care for them plus they stink so you can't keep them inside the car.

I bought the BMW jacking pucks (part number 51-71-1-960-752) and they work just fine, both front and rear. Not had any problems with them staying put either.

Yeah they are made of some kind of vulcanized rubber. They smell like raw asphalt or something, makes the inside of the car smell nasty if you leave them in the back compartments.

Going for the aluminum one's this time.
