I'm thinking about installing Flowmasters in my stock 2000 Coupe 5.7. I'm looking for a sound similar to the stock Mustangs out there without disturbing the California Highway Patrol or the neighbors. Any thoughts on which series: 40, 50, 80, etc.? Any thoughts on the street legal issue?
Your probably not gonna get the sound of any of the Mustang's with your LS1, the firing order is different. The 80's series Flowmaster makes for the C5 sounds pretty good.

My Mustang GT with headers, SLP X pipe, and series 40 Flowmasters, will bring tears to your eyes, IT SOUNDS SO SWEEEEET! The Corvette just has a different tone, nice, but not SNARLY and ANGRY like the Mustang. Like it was mentioned, it must be the firing order. The LT4 engines sound nice with flows, my friends wife has a Z28, it has a really deep tone to it, you can hear it 3 blocks away! Between the exhaust tone and the SHELBY paint scheme, the car sure gets alot of attention, almost as much as the Corvette! And, actually late model Mustangs don't rot, the window seals actually WORK, they seal out noise and water, unlike another make of car in my garage!
