Just a FYI for you guys (and gals).
I always wondered about the little compressor that came with the slime kit, if it really did have the guts to bring the tire up to 32 PSI. I thought I would rather find out now, rather on the side of the road.
So today I conducted the highly scientific experiment, deflated my stock size rear tire (275 run flat) down to 0 PSI.
In exactly 10 minutes the tire was fully up to 32 PSI using a aftermarket gauge, even the guage on the mini compressor was somewhat accurate. The compressor neaver even seamed to struggle or run out of steam.
So there you have it, carry on.............
I actually *just* picked up that pump & slime kit, along with the $8 plug kit, from Pep Boys yesterday as a precursor to getting some non-runflats soon. Good to know it was a good purchase.
Slime claims that it's product is TPMS safe - and they state that their product is water soluable.
This quote is from the web site mentioned above....
"TPMS friendly (Note: May not install easily into tires with direct or valve mounted devices)."
The TPMS on the Vette is obviously a valve mounted device. So while it might be okay, I sure wouldn't want to be standing on the side of the road struggling with trying to get the Slime into the tire in adverse weather conditions or heavy traffic. If you're gonna run non-runflats (I do), be prepared to call a flat bed......IMHO.
