Road trip
Took a short road trip in the Z over the weekend.. Drove 396.00 miles got right at 22 mile per, average speed 52.7 MPH.. Have had the Z since May 07, drove it in the rain for the frist time on this trip, must say it handied like a dream... With all I have read on the forum about the way these cars handle in the rain I was not sure if it was the cars or tires.. I put Michelin PS 2's on and could not be happier.. Tried a panic stop after I got off the interstate from about 45 no problem, also drove in the ruts full of water did not seem like a big deal no hydroplaning that I could tell.. It does not get real cold here so I can't say any thing about that.. Moral of this story is I guess it's the tires and not the car, I would highly reccommend the Michelin's for the rain...
i'm surprised you didn't get better mileage than that averaging 55. must have had your foot in it a lot or not used 6th gear much. i get 26+ mpg averaging 70 to 85 on the highway and rarely use cruise control.

I was surprised also BUT. I did not get to drive on the interstate the whole time, went from Sarasota to Dade city exit on 75 then over to 589 you might know it as Veterans expy. off of that onto 98 then highway 19 north a lot of little towns and stop and go , ended up at Fowlers Bluff.. Did not put my foot into it much at all and I did use 6th gear a lot... I thought I would get more.. But I do have a computer tune, that might have something to do with it but I am not sure ....
not bad then with all that stop and go. i'm amazed these things get that good of mileage. i drive to north ga. from south fla. and get 26+ mpg but thats on 75 . 18 around town with stop and go and playing a bit too.

I think it's hilarious that these 400 HP race cars get this kind of mileage. Every time I tell someone that on a trip to XX, got 26 MPG or whatever, nobody believes me. Get the looks like "He just rode in on a turnip truck" if he thinks I believe that baloney.... Of course don't say anything about the "spirited driving trips...
