Living in the northeast this weekend I finally took my Corvette out from the garage (winter storage). Everything is driving well and I notice that the computer is not reading the pressure in the tires. I go and fill air in the tires using a tire gauge for reference, lost considerable air in the tires when the car sat for 4 months. I notice that for three of the four tires the computer is getting a reading, however for the right rear nothing is being displayed. I then start receiving the Tire System Service Message. Last year I had this same problem when I took the car out of winter storage and my mechanic somehow just reset the computer in the corvette and everything was display correctly after the computer reset itself. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I do the computer reset. Thanks.

First thing I would do is try the sensor relearn procedure as follows:
You will need a strong magnet to do this.
* Turn the ignition to the ON position.
* Press the DIC RESET button to clear any warning messages.
* Press the DIC OPTIONS button until the display goes blank.
* Press and hold the DIC RESET button for 3 seconds.
* Press the DIC OPTIONS button until the "TIRE TRAINING" message appears.
* Press the DIC RESET button until the message "LEARN FRONT TIRE" appears.
* Hold the magnet over the pressure sensor's location on the LEFT FRONT wheel.
* When the horn beeps, programming is complete for that wheel.
* Program the other three wheel sensors as directed by the message display. The sequence is as follows: left front, right front, right rear, left rear.
If that doesn't solve the problem, you may have a sensor that has gone bad.
I had my tires replaced a few months ago. Three out of the four tires were reading the pressure but the fourth wouldn't. I took it back to the tech and he reset them all again. It still wasn't registering but I didn't have time to spend on it and had to get to work. Once I had driven about 5 miles, it started registering the pressure. May sound a little whacked but you may just need to drive it and heat up the tires.
What year is your car? The battery may be going bad in that sensor if the car is old enough.
If you want to retrain the system the magnet doesn't have to be very big. I used to use a 1x2 rectangular magnet that I got from Radio Shack for 99 cents. You do not need to take it to a mechanic to do the retraining.
