Ok Vette fans...what year was the one and only year that GM produced only 43 corvettes but NONE of them made the sale to the public? It was the only year we (the US) never got the chance to buy a vette.
Hint: there are rumors that two were sold overseas as test vehicles

83 was the only year they did not sell a Corvette to the public after 1953.
I dunno about the 43 verts.

Here is the 1983 that is in the Museum in Bowling Green.

Nahhh - I am not that good with the trivia, but it just so happens that I was right in the throes of being able to buy my first brand new car back in that time frame, and I remember the hullabaloo about the new gen Corvette, and the commotion surrounding the delay of it's release for sale.
Also, I have been to the museum many times and have read the sign on that 83 coupe.
I certainly do not know it all (and I hope I do not come off as a know-it-all...)
Since I answered, do I get to ask the next one? Keeping it C5 related, what was the name of the chief designer of the C5?

Nahhh - I am not that good with the trivia, but it just so happens that I was right in the throes of being able to buy my first brand new car back in that time frame, and I remember the hullabaloo about the new gen Corvette, and the commotion surrounding the delay of it's release for sale.
