The 'trigger' wire should be tapped to an ingition source, not a constant 12 volt source. Key off = No power, Key On = Power to heaters.
Using an Add-a-Tap with properly rated fuses is one of the easiest ways to accomplish this. I forget offhand fuse numbers I did mine on, but found two circuits that were ignition wired.
Great option.......Love them, even in the short winters we have around these parts.
I guess someone just hooked up the hot to a constantly live source.
I included wiring diagrams of how to tap into the #22 fuse. Didn't realise it was called Add a Tap. That way the seats turn off when the ignition is off as its a switched source.
Here is where I mounted my switches. **NOTE -- many had to cut out a portion of the back to get the wires to fit. I did not!
If you have selective ride, this set-up will not work. If not, this is the way to go! Contact by PM and I'll show you how you do not have to start hacking away at this part of the console to get your switches to fit with NO modification (except to drill 2 holes for the switches)
