Hi Fellow Vetter's. We took our 50th Anniversary out for its first long spring outing. The weather was great and we had a great time. However, the passenger window is not working now .
The car sat for about 45 days and the battery has a shut off feature when it drains down to a certain level. The battery had shut everything off. But, the car fired as it should with out problems. The clock had to be reset, no problem. Later, we notice the passenger window is not working. It was working before the car sat for this last period.
Is there something that needs to be reset for the passenger window to work?
Well when my battery went dead on my 02 , (3500 miles) first I had problems with the column lock and than the door window/lock computer. The computer would not communicate with the rest of the car and had to be replaced. About $350 as I remenber. I know you can buy them cheaper but than you have to install which should not be too difficut. Do a search. C-5's do not like the battery to drain down, trust me.
Thanks, I will have the dealer check it out. I was hoping-- my wife's car had to be reset when her battery died so I though maybe the vette was the same.

Slick 50....Does it matter if you are using the drivers door switch or passenger door switch??...I would guess it doesnt.....Ive replaced over a dozen C5 passenger side power window motors for members of my local Corvette club...You would think the drivers side power window motor would fail first, as it usually gets the most use....But for some reason, Ive never had to replace a drivers side power window motor....In my experience it's ALWAYS the passenger side that fails....
The easiest way to tell if it's the power window motor is to pull the door panel and use a test light to test for voltage at the electrical connector for the motor while working the switch......If it's getting voltage and the window isnt working, you need a new power window motor...Hang on to you wallet...they aint cheap!!!...It comes as an assembly with the track for the window....and FWIW, Ive never encountered this problem when it was anything other than the motor...

Thanks. I was afraid that would be the answer that I would get. But, hoping there might be something that I was missing.
Thanks again. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Try removing the motor with our removing the entire assb. The motor has 4 small screws that hold it on. Be carfull not to hit the window up down switch. I did and had to buy the entire assmbly, $320.00
I can almost guarantee that if you turn on the ignition, hold down the window down switch and slam the door a few times, the window will start to work and continue to work until you don't use it for an extended time again. The contact in the motor sticks from lack of use. Try this before you go to the dealer, and post what happens.

My C5 did the same thing. At first slamming the door worked but after a while I resorted to hitting one of the motor mounting bolts through the screw access right behind the pull handle.
Eventually you'll have to replace the assembly

You see a lot of posts where the relay in the window motor sticks. the relays are not the best in the world.
My guess is that its just got "gummed up" when its been sitting unused for so long. If you can use the "percussion technique" - a good rap at the lower area of the door panel - it may free it off. Once you start using it again it may be fine. Worth a try before you invest $$$ in a new module.
If it gets to where you have to change it, Bakersfield's link that he posted above is the best one on the Forum. Bakersfield
It can also be as simple as a short in the wiring harness.
While holding the switch down wiggle the accordian tube that the wire harness is in between the door and the car body.
I had the same issue, the window would not work and I had a "NO COMM" code. Bill Curlee and others from the forum told me to try this and I said yeah right .... but it worked.
If this resolves the issue you simply need to access the harness and put some electrical tape on the exposed / bare wire and you're good to go.

I have had the window work fine, and the next time I drive the car, it quit working. I drive my car everyday, and the battery has never gone down.
Chances are, the window regulator motor has stuck. You may be able to get it to work awhile by bumping it, but once they mess up, you will probably have to replace the window regulator unit to permanently fix the problem. Who wants the aggrivation of not knowing everytime you push the button if it is going to work or not??
My passenger side window just quit working one day. Took it in and the controller and motor unit was bad. Replaced under warranty, no cost to me. I have zero deductible extented warranty.
