Default 02' Z06 cam

I am wanting to start looking for a cam. I want something that I can get in and road trip if need be. Not really a daily driver. Looking for maybe overall installing a CAI, Cam, and possibly headers, definitely keeping stock Cats, and catback..

I like what I've read on the MS4 package by Texas speed. I know this would need a tune. But just wanted some suggestions....Thanks as always

If you cam, you must tune. If you cam and tune, you're a fool if you don't add headers, IMHO.

I'd find a good semi-local speed shop and talk to them about your goals. They can at least get you the parts if you want to install yourself, and they can tune it for you. If you had your profile filled out, someone here might be able to recommend one to you.

I know the tune is a definite. I know the headers would be crazy not to do, but just kinda like the factory Z exhaust sound. Don't really want something to loud. Most of the cars with exhaust changes are a bit to much for me. Thats why I was looking more at maybe Cam, CAI, Tune...

Maybe as you would say somewhat of a sleeper....

If you are going to do headers, you might as well add the high flow cats and an x-pipe to the picture, and you are definitely not going to have a sleeper after you install the headers, CAI, and cam.

MS4 is a big *** cam... one of the most extreme for a 5.7L.

If you don't do headers then there is not much sense in doing a cam.
The cat back is where the "noise" is, I have a friend who has the dynotech set up in his car with stock Ti's and his car is Very quiet inside compared to my Borla Stingers cat back only.
If you are wanting a "sleeper" cam with out changing the sound of the car much then you would be looking at a cam with no more than say 225 to 230 in duration at around a .580 or so lift on about a 114lsa.
But again no sense in getting the inside of the motor beathing better if it can't do so before and after it.
