2002 to late 2003: broken valve spring syndrome
I see that the forbidden topic of the 2002 thru late production 2003 LS6 broken valve spring 'anomaly' has not been brought up.
This is a common ocurrance with the newer high lift cam that was introduced in the '02 model year for the 405 hp LS6. Higher lift, lighter valves , increased valve spring pressure. Opps , late '03 production bought out the introduction of the LS2 springs to stop the problem.

interesting; I've never heard of it.
But there is a specific C5 section dedicated to the Z06; and since I don't have one I never venture in to that section. I doubt the failure-to-mention was due to some secretive scheme.

I know where the comment about trouble came from. When I was recently researching a new car purchase, I looked up my '02z on consumer reports and they say it was one of the most problematic years....
That's kinda funny, I'm trying to remember if I have had any problems other than not driving it enough
