Hood Insulation
My 04 needs a new hood insulation, or at least one that is a little better looking. The one I have now still does the job but is stained and ratty looking around the edges.
I would like to know if there is a place that sells them with pictures on it, or nice looking ones for show. I cant seem to find one in any catalogs that I have.
Thanks in advance for any tips or outlets for this.
By the way, I do believe there is a Corvette guardian angel with me. I was heading home about maybe a mile from the house on our country curvy road, minding my own business and driving a safe speed, and out of nowhere, from around the curve, some woman in an old battered suv comes roaring at me, on my side of the road. I could see she didnt see me for some strange reason and the only thing I could do was stop, which I did. All of a sudden she looks up and sees we are about to have a head on, and swerves to her right, just missing me. Needless to say, I shook all the rest of the day, thinking that one or both of us could have been killed or badly injured. She must have been doing about 40mph.
There is a Corvette God, Im sure.

I think you'll find something to your tastes with one of these.
Good Luck

I bought a stock hoodliner from the local Chevy dealer and put a decal on it. 1.5 years later and it still looks good.

Hood Liner Painting Instructions
No Problem,
Well what I did was remove the Hoodliner off the hood! (You have to take two of you fingers like a fork and get them under the tab and then put your other hands fingers on the other side of the tab and pull up - and POP! it's off)
Once liner is removed take it in the garage or outback and give it a good vacuuming (Do Not Wet it! - Not Good )
Once all clean get the two cans of (You did get the two cans of Black Semi-Gloss ENAMEL Paint right - ) Black semi-gloss ENAMEL paint and do the whole liner, soak the with extra paint the emblem area - It will want to drink the hand paints this will seal it so you don't use as much and it looks better!
Let it dry real good - Have a couple of sodas or a beverage of your choice
After you let it dry real good get the Model Paint you bought (Testers - RED, WHITE and SILVER or your choice of color for the flag poles and circle! one jar each is good )
Get the small paint brushes you bought and paint the RED first - you'll see that it actually stays where it is supposed to be - Who Knew!
Then paint the WHITE, again it stays where it should!
Now do the SILVER Poles and Circle last as this is the easiest and it covers any of the colors that might of spilled over - Just make sure you take your time and all will come out good! You might let it dry between coats of each color for a little bit!
Then take the Clear Coat spray paint in the can and shoot it when all is done(You did buy Clear, Yes!? )
Show me some pics when your done of before and afters!
You know what I forgot to tell you the type of paint! I'm sorry about that.
I went to the Hobby store and bought Testers Model Paints - Yup that's right the stuff we used as kids.
I used an outside quality Semi Gloss "ENAMEL" based paint for the Hood Liner - 2 Cans
Thanks,Matt

Those are awesome hoodliner designs. Wow. I love the one with the tiger, and the blue one. My liner is enroute somewhere between here and Salmon Idaho, so I am ready with paint when it gets here.
I didnt see that that woman was on the phone. Unless she was and dropped it in order to avoid hitting me. She must have been looking out at the scenery or something, but the look on her face when she saw me sitting there, was of sheer terror. I am still on the lookout for her and if I find her and have the op to speak to her, I will certainly ask her what the h.....she was doing.

Well I took your advice and went ahead to paint my own. I just didnt feel like spending a ton of money to have someone else do it. It took me three days mainly for the paint to dry good after each coat.
Now if I can figure out how to send a picture, I will do so.
Thanks for your input and directions.
