Default Painted engine bay pics

Nothing elaborate, especially compared to a lot of the engine bay pics, but it dresses it up some. I did the frc's last year, and finally did the WW, coolant tank, and radiator cover this year. All in all, a very simple DIY project.
Also a fresh Zaino pic.

Another great DYI job. You know that you can never stop. Just as you stated, last year FRC's, this year tanks, next some chrome caps or a battery cover or interior parts then some........

BTW there is no cure. It will take all your money. It can cause divorce, dis association with your kids and make you look at all sales on vette stuff.

The only good thing is your health (for the most part) won't be affected.

Can you post a simple step-by-step process of how you painted each of those pieces?

I used a spray can of LMB and a spray can of clear that I ordered from my local GM dealer. Perfect color match, and less than $20 for both.

I probably should have sanded just a little bit more. I used 400 and 600 wet sandpaper. Plastic primer from local hardware store. About 4 light coats, then a few light coats of color, then 2-3 light coats of clear.

Mine look good, but with just a little more attention to detail/patience, they could look a little better. Take your time and anybody can do this.

Total cost of less than $40 is tough to beat.

Yes, pulled the tanks.
A couple of tips. On the WW tank, I was nervous removing the hose on the bottom as it was really on there. I just twisted with some pliers though, and it did come off.
I put a towel under the coolant tank to help with any spillage. Be prepared to tilt the hoses up immediately to help with the flow, and I also clamped some vise grips very lightly on the hose to pinch it off once removed. I had a rag on the hose under the vise grip. You can tilt the tank so no coolant comes out of the tank itself. Lost very little coolant.
I did feel foolish when putting the coolant tank back on. I knew where the hoses went, but there appeared to be a spot on the bottom of the tank that should have been plugged with something, and I even asked a question here about it. Turns out it is nothing, and I still feel stupid about that one.
