Okay was driving down the road the pther day and went to turn right, when I hit the blinker it began to blink at a very rapid pace. So naturally i thought I had a bulb out, and also noticed that my amber driving light was out as well on the passenger side. So bought a bulb and changed out the amber bulb in the front. But yet this did not fix the problem. The lights work when the headlights are on but the blinker does not and the running lamp still isnt working. Any suggestions? Oh and the drivers side is working fine. WTF?
I had the very same situation that you describe. It was the bulb socket on the passenger side that was fried. I needed to replace it right away and bought it from Mr. "Goodwench". It was ridiculously expensive, but Auto Zone and the other parts stores didn't have one. I am not sure if it is generic - I don't think so, and therefore it would have to be purchased from Chevrolet. Probably another GM product uses the same socket, but you know how that goes with the Corvette tax. Need any more infor let me know - easy fix, by the way,

As stated above it could be the bulb socket but then again it could be the hazzard switch!
I had the same problem and pressed the hazzard switch several times while the car was on then turned the car off and started it again, tried the signal again and the problem was gone!
Turns out that dust gets into the switch and since the Turn Signals are linked to the Hazzard switch, this problem is apparent when the switch becomes dirty!
Might be worth checking the ground connections on the frame rail under the hood. I think there are two of them, the front one is the ground for the R.S. lights.
Well I know I have the hazzard switch problem due to at certain times having no turn signals at all until I punch the hazzard button then everything rights itself. Unfortunantly this has not solved my curent predicament. So I have to ask, how does this hazzard switch problemget fixed? Is it relatively easy to fix? As far as the bulb socket being wasted, would this was the case would the amber lights work while the headlights were on? Dude I love my car but I am kinda feeling like my pride and joy is an electrical basketcase!
Unless you want to replace your C5 hazard switch periodically it is a good idea to punch the button rapidly about 25 times every month or two. I've found that doing so will prevent the usual C5 turn signal problems.
