What can you use to keep mice out of your engine compartment? My DD is parked outside nightly on a acreage. Last night a mouse at off all the wires to my headlight, park lights, blinkers....
I used moth ***** when mine was stored this winter. I put the moth ***** in an old tube sock...I made several and placed them in various locations throughout the engine compartment...

Has worked every year I have stored mine. I don't go as far as putting them in my engine bay. Just around the interior and exterior of my garage. and underneath the car. Good luck!

For folks with a garage I suggest (I use 'em and they work for me) the sonic electronic pest deterrents that you plug into any house receptacle. They work on pests other than rodents as well. Lowe's/Home Depot @ $15 for two.

Mice don't like the light, so prop the hood open ( assuming you have portable carport or something to cover your car) put drop light under the hood. My folks used to place little Decon boxes under the hood and around the tires. Their problem went away.
I , myself don't have that problem with mice here at 4200 ft elevation. But we do have squirrels that will eat wiring insulation if given the chance, but the bobcats , puma, eagles and sometimes falcons keep the population at bay

I agree. We have 3 dogs in the family so obviously I have dog food stored in the garage. Even in a plastic container mice were attracted. I bought the electronic pest deterrents and no more problems.
Irish spring bars of soap cut into quarters and placed around the car also will work. Perhaps you need to go with some sort of spray you'd apply to the ground around the area where you park. Might want to check with your local nursery / lawn & garden supplier to see what they have to keep rodents away.
